All about POM

In my quest to eat foods that stimulate goodness for the body-I tried POM a.k.a. Pomegranate juice.   Bitterness and I are not the best of friends however it wasn’t so bad.  I guess my taste buds are evolving!  Grapefruit is now staple in my daily routine, so POM was palatable.

Here’s why you should start drinking this too:

It’s good for the heart-that’s a no brainer start now!

Offers lots of antioxidants specifically polyphenol.

POM is grown and process in the USA.

Let’s not forget to pamper the exterior of the body too, with South of France Acai Pomegranate bar soap-so refreshing!

Opting for a natural boost

Tired of being sick, fatigue, and not my normal 110%, I’m trying something new. Especially since it’s only four weeks in to 2012, I have to much on the agenda to be slowing down.  Looking to change and cleanse my diet I watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead by Joe Cross.  Moved by what I saw I purchased a Breville Juice Fountain Plus today and began juicing.

My first concoction:

-Half a pint of Blueberries

-1 dozen strawberries

-1 apple

-2 peeled oranges

With all the excitement and the delicious taste,  I drank it all up before remembering to take an image of it.

Throughout the next couple of weeks I’ll be experimenting with fruits and vegetables.  On my way to a healthier me!

Note to self -Banana-doesn’t juice.  Now I know.

Have you watch this movie?  What did you think?  Do you juice?  Any great recipes you would like to share?

Would love to hear.

Shaken not stirred

One of my favorite cocktail drinks is a Sour Apple Martini.  A lovely way to cool off the edge!

Let’s get started, here’s what you will need:

1 shot of Vodka

1.5 shots of Sour Apple Pucker

1 cup full of ice

1 Cocktail Shaker

Throw it all into the shaker and shake it up!

After a thorough shake, pour it.

Viola-it’s that easy.  Cheers!

To accompany this fabulous drink I recommend Frank Sinatra in the background-good old blue eyes never fails.

What’s your favorite cocktail?
